WEST SENECA, N.Y. (WIVB) – Storms full of lake effect snow have already dropped several inches across western New York, but those storms won’t stop for a few days.

Drivers say wind has dropped visibility substantially. It may not be the worst that will come. Some residents are still prepared to hunker down for a period of time.

“Generator’s all set. Just getting some gas for the snow plow, throw some in the truck in case I’ve got to get out in the storm, and we’re good,” one resident explained.

Other western New Yorkers rely on the snow as part of their business. Sean Tober, owner of Sunrise Garden and Lawn, said he’s readying his business for a long day.

“Probably start at 2 o’clock tonight, probably will stop at 2 o’clock tomorrow morning,” Tober said. “Just spreading a little salt, putting a little fuel in the trucks, getting ready to go.”

Storms are expected to pass into diminishing snow showers by Wednesday.
