A pocket of unseasonably cold air will keep WNY very chilly the rest of the weekend. Scattered rain showers will tend to mix and change to light snow showers, especially in the higher terrain, though don’t expect any accumulation in the metro area. A wet coating to an inch is possible on the hills, especially on the grassy surfaces. A brisk breeze will accompany the chilly temperatures. Moisture will exit our region in the overnight hours, leaving just a few flurries or light snow showers mainly in the hills. Don’t forget to change your clock tonight as we fall back by an hour.
Drier air and sunnier skies working into the region Sunday should make for a prettier day, but the chill will last. Warmer air will filter in Monday and Tuesday, with some sunshine before a weakening cool front produces light showers Tuesday night into Wednesday. Another disturbance will result in more rain showers Thursday which will become mixed with some snow in the higher terrain toward Friday. After this crisp weekend, most of the week will be more seasonable until another shot of cold late in the week.
